Zombies to Infest Broad Ripple, Containment Has Failed!

Infection expected to be wide spread by 10/24/09

This year we are not doing the World Zombie Day because Pittsburgh bumped the day up three weeks.

However this year will be the first one we do on a Saturday so more people can make it without interfering with their work schedules, and we should get a better turnout in food donations for Gleaners Food Bank

IndyMojo.com is going to be a contributor and sponsor

All bars in Broad Ripple are expected to be Zombie Friendly for the Zombie Bar Crawl afterwards.

A zombie gathering, which drew more then a 1,000 people to the local mall in Pittsburgh, PA one Sunday morning, was certified as a Guinness World Record in 2006. Since then many cities have tried to beat their record. Some almost succeeded. This will be Indy's 4th Annual Zombie Walk. Originally started for fun, in 2006 in the Broad Ripple area, the Indy Zombie walk started with just a handful of people dressed just as zombies and paraded and bar hopped together. In 2007, only one year later, our numbers quadrupled with at least 50+ zombies for the walk down the sidewalks of Broad Ripple Avenue furthering a head count of 170+ zombies just a few hours later in a single bar.

Zombie Walks have been going on all around the world for about 10 years and is usually defined as two or more people dressed in zombie costumes and make up.

This is a free event for all ages to do the walk, although it is recommended that those that are under 21 years of age not to attempt the Zombie Bar Crawl afterwards. However, there will be a LITTLE ZOMBIE DINNER at Hot Box Pizza!

Their will be volunteers with fake blood and make up kits to make people zombies if they like and we will be collecting canned food items for charity.

The event will start Saturday 10/24/09 at 6pm in the south end of the Kroger parking lot on the 6200 block of Guilford for make up and canned food drop off along with sign in sheets for our record attempt for Indianapolis. Then at 7pm we will depart for our lap around the sidewalks of Broad Ripple
